Life. A precious gift. Something to treasure.
"Sometimes our pains and trouble can make you wish you were born in another time and place...But you can bet your life and that as twice as double, that God knew exactly where he wanted you to be placed. So make sure when you say your in it, but not of it, that you're not making this place sometimes called hell. Change your words into truth and then change that truth into love, and maybe our children's grandchildren and their great-grandchildren will tell...and I've got to say Always - Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key of Life "As"

This blog is dedicated to finding a commonality that connects us all globally. I've developed this mathematical equation that equates success to me. It goes like this: music, arts, entertainment, good food, good health, lots of laughter, happiness, and most of all, L-O-V-E (of self/family/friends) = the best quality of life! So, I stand on my soap box and express my thoughts. May they enlighten and strengthen you.

The King of the Jungle - Hear Him ROAR!
This week was really an unusual one. Got good news (friend is getting married) and bad news
(the death of a friend). What with all that's happening in the news - the shooting of
9 innocent people in Charleston, NC. - I could go on and on.
What I wanted to say is, who ever you are, know that you've got to do whatever it is that you want to get accomplished, as soon as you can.
Why?
Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
Thank you, all of the men that decided early on to marry, have children and stick to it -stay with it - committing yourself to your family. A big shout out to all of the step-fathers, uncles, cousins and brothers who have helped out as a father figure to their siblings - No one said it was going to be easy - being a parent, but it is so rewarding!
So, to all of you men who have stepped up to the helms, helping single mothers raise their children, being the father figure that is so so needed in every child's life - hats off to you.
Children who have been raised by men with true grit are so grateful and thankful to you.
In that regard, that's why I say, everyday should be Father's Day!
With love & light,
Carla

The battle of Antietam (a.k.a. Sharpsburg) set the stage, providing the necessary Union victory needed to issue the Emancipation Proclamation.

Dec 1865, made slavery and indentured servitude, expect for those duly convicted of a crime, illegal, everywhere subject to the Unites States jurisdiction.

Quiet as it's kept, President Lincoln had to issue the Emancipation Proclamation twice.
Fast-forward to today. America, the Beautiful. We've got work to do.
As the late, Dr. Maya Angelou said in
"Still I Rise" -
"Out of the huts of history and shame -
I rise.
I am the dream and the hope of the slave -
I rise.
I rise.
I rise.
Love & light.
